Women Leading the Way in Real Estate at PRD

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we recognise the talented women across PRD who are making an impact in real estate. Their experiences highlight both the opportunities in the industry and the steps we cand take to accelerate progress toward gender equality.

For many women, real estate is not just a career—it’s a space where they can thrive. Laurelle Brown, Sales Executive, PRD Bendigo emphasises that despite common perceptions, real estate isn’t just a male-dominated field. "Often we think industries like this aren’t for us, but that’s not the case. Real estate is for everyone," she says. Her biggest achievement so far has been setting and achieving a high sales goal with the support of her office, earning her a nomination for PRD’s "Rookie of the Year."

Caitlin Fogarty, Commercial Property from PRD Port Stephens has faced the challenge of balancing assertiveness with approachability in commercial property management. "In a field where tough negotiations and firm decision-making are essential, women can sometimes be unfairly perceived as too aggressive—or not assertive enough," she explains. She believes that targeted training and professional development in commercial property management would help more women succeed, ensuring they feel confident and empowered in their roles.
Support networks play a critical role in progress. "Fostering a strong network of women in the industry—through mentorship, peer support, or industry groups—helps break down competitive barriers and accelerates our growth," Caitlin adds.
Leadership visibility is another key driver of change. Veronica Perez, Director from PRD Perez/Maroubra believes that showing more women in leadership roles will encourage others to step up. "Confidence is key. Backing yourself and your abilities is essential when leading a business," she shares. Veronica also highlights the importance of mentorship programs to help women re-enter the workforce and grow into leadership positions.

Pushing for progress takes daily commitment. Veronica’s approach includes setting personal and business improvement goals each morning and reviewing them weekly. "I also make sure to write what I’m grateful for at the same time. It keeps me focused and balanced," she says. she shares.
At PRD, the commitment to celebrating and supporting women in real estate remains strong. As Laurelle notes, "Encouraging and supporting women to see real estate as a rewarding career for everyone—and celebrating our successes—is something PRD does really well."
This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the achievements of these inspiring women and reaffirm our commitment to building an inclusive and thriving industry for all.
