The Mackay Isaac and Whitsunday councils are set to receive and share a $15 million budget sweetener to generate 210 jobs across the region.
Before the state government hand out a financial blueprint on June 15, Deputy Premier Steven Miles will visit Mackay this Wednesday as part of a pre-budget blitz.

Here are the following projects that will be funded for this project:

* Woodlands District Park's pump track
* Seaforth Esplanade's redevelopment
* Lions Lookout at Shute Harbour facilities upgrade
* Moranbah toddler pool

"This round of Works for Queensland will help deliver 333 projects, which the councils estimate will create or support more than 3600 jobs where they are needed most," Deputy Premier Steven Miles stated on the aforementioned Whitsunday Times interview.

Mackay MP Julieanne Gilbert announced that the funding would boost the Whitsunday & Mackay region's economy and generate jobs.
"This is great news for Mackay and for our region's economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic," Mrs Gilbert said. "So far 1471 jobs have been created through the Works for Queensland projects across the region."
