Funnel Bay Project Extended until 2022

Good news! A huge project at Funnel Bay has been given an 18-month extension or until May 14, 2022.
The Whitsunday councillors agreed in a unanimous vote in extending the development approval at last week’s council meeting.

The promising development designated for Langford Rd at Flametree is planning to produce an eco-tourism resort precinct with 172 accommodation units, a hotel, a function centre, a chapel, restaurants, and shops.

According to the Whitsunday Times, 
The council originally granted preliminary approval for the Funnel Bay development back in November 2006, subject to conditions. 
Various alterations were made to the development approval between 2016 and 2018. 
In June 2018, the council extended the approval to November last year, and so in October of last year, developers asked for that period to be extended again.
