Temporary closure extended for Proserpine Library
Whitsunday Regional Council decided to extend the temporary closure of the Proserpine Library until December 2021.
During this period, construction works at the Proserpine Entertainment Centre will restrict access to the rear and front entries to the library, and parking will also be limited in the rear carpark.
Council has considered the increased activity of the neighbouring construction site, and it was decided the library be closed to preserve the health and safety of patrons attending the library.
As the library is an essential Council service to the community, some library services will be relocated to the Proserpine Administration Building. These services include:
Reserved books and resources can be collected at the Proserpine Administration Building (83-85 Main Street, Proserpine) on Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 2 pm to 4 pm and Thursdays from 9am to 11am.
Online resources are available on the Library website.
The First 5 Forever sessions will continue at the Proserpine Administration Building and other outreach locations. Please visit the 'What's On' page for further details.
A home library service is available, and please contact Council on 1300 972 753 for details.
The pop-up library is based at the Proserpine Administration Centre and various outreach locations.
We apologise for any inconvenience the closure has caused; however, the safety of our patrons is our priority.
