WATCH: March 4, 2022 Whitsunday Weekly E-News
Hi, Annette Neil from PRD Whitsunday.
Now we have had some fantastic results in the last couple of weeks for our short-term holiday letting owners that we manage properties for through our business, Accom Whitsunday.
Everyone's talking about this. A lot more people are choosing to holiday locally within the country; of course, with Covid-19, we're also seeing many people looking to invest up here in the area and put property into holiday letting.
They can come and stay in it a few times a year, maybe have family up here, stay in it as well, and then be receiving a passive income through the year for that.
A few questions that we get asked quite often about it is...
What sort of booking volumes are you getting? Is it as good as potentially people think it is or says it is?
We see properties with a sea view, a pool, in a fantastic location in the main street of Airlie beach, as a beautiful holiday let properties.
In saying that we manage properties from Shute harbour, even Hamilton island, as far out as out to Dingo Beach and Hideaway Bay and some rural properties.
You never know what might be able to work as a holiday property.
One of the big questions, and it's something that has been quite a contentious issue, not just here in the Whitsundays but also in other local government areas. And that is a material change of use, which comes about under the council planning scheme.
This is where you may have a house in a zoned residential area, and you have to apply to the council to get a permit to run it as a short-term accommodation business.
Our Team at Accom Whitsunday, we can take the stress off your hands, and we can help coordinate that process on your behalf so that you can hopefully get approval.
We are seeing that many properties are being approved because they tend to be in those tourism-based areas.
However, we can give you a hand through that process.
Give Katie Gascoyne a call from our team today and see how easy it could be for you to get your property into holiday letting.
